GLOVES
A golf glove is an essential piece of equipment. It maintains a firm hold on the club during the swing to allow the golfer to get a good grip on the club so it doesn't spin or slip in your hand.
Golfers should wear a golf glove on their top hand when gripping a golf club. Right-handed golfers wear a glove on their left hand; left-handed golfers wear one on their right hand.
Gloves are made in styles for men, women and juniors. Manufactures offer different sizes for each golfer. They also offer as an option, “Cadet” gloves for those golfers seeking a glove shorter in the fingers and wider in the palm.
Most gloves today offer a choice between how long they last, and how much ‘feel’ they offer. Synthetic gloves are less expensive and last longer. Leather gloves cost more, but provide a softer ‘feel’ on the golf club. It is a matter of personal preference as to which is the best for you. Keep in mind the climate in which you are most likely to be playing; there are gloves for every temperature, weather condition and climate.
When choosing a glove, it's crucial to pick one that fits just right. Try on several gloves before you make a choice. Be sure it fits snugly as a poorly chosen glove can be an unwelcome distraction or a source of discomfort. A glove that fits properly will help enhance your touch and can improve your golf game.
